| We had an opportunity to interview the 1st of the Brigade alliance sent to the jury house.
B.B.A.D Radio: You are supposed to be this diabolical super genius. How did you end up being evicted? Who do you blame for your eviction? Matt: I blame myself for my eviction because I threw the last HOH I played in. I am a diabolical super genius I just got over confident and should have played harder for that HOH.
B.B.A.D Radio: Were you surprised to be the first one evicted out of your Brigade alliance? Matt: Not one bit. I was the strongest player in the Brigade and the strongest player in the house. It makes sense to get out the threats.
B.B.A.D Radio: You told your fellow housemates that your wife had Melorheostosis in the hopes of garnering their sympathies in order to gain their votes at the end had you ended up in a final 2 spot. Did you ever think that the lie could be used against you in that your housemates would not want to take you to the end because they wouldn't want to lose the votes to you if their were to be sympathy votes going your way? How did you think this lie gave you an advantage? Matt: In a final three situation, the lie works heavily against me because no one would want to take me. I’m a good enough competitor that I would have been the one making that decision. In a final two situation, that lie would have won me the competition.
B.B.A.D Radio: Why were you so stuck on getting Brendon out of the house? Did you think he was your only threat in the house? Matt: Brendon wasn’t my only threat, but he was my biggest threat. He was very competitive and he was coming after me. Britney was equally competitive, but she was not out to get me at the times when I wanted Brendon.
B.B.A.D Radio: Ragan showed a lot of loyalty to you. Why would you suggest someone who was obviously so loyal to you to go up on the block? Matt: Because I had to choose between a Brigade member or Ragan. Those were my only options. My heart was with Ragan, but my strategy was with the Brigade.
B.B.A.D Radio: You were very loyal to the Brigade. What loyalty did each Brigade member show you? Matt: Well they didn’t really have a chance to show me loyalty because they were such horrible players. If they had ever won anything I don’t think they would have put me up. As far as I know, all three of them petitioned heavily to get Ragan up on the block against Enzo.
B.B.A.D Radio: You are a long time fan of Big Brother. You've seen in the past seasons that most alliances formed early on don't last much less a large alliance with 4 people. How long did you think this alliance would last? Did you ever think that it would fracture before the final 4? Matt: Our alliance was different because of the secrecy of it. Plus, we all had side alliances covering the entire house. I had a great hope for the Brigade. The downfall for the Brigade was that I was the only competent member. They did not pull their weight.
B.B.A.D Radio: You were getting your hands dirty and winning competitions and making enemies where some of your alliance members weren't. Did you ever think of ditching this alliance? Matt: I thought about it several times, but I was just too deep into it at those points. I had to stick it out and make the best of it.
B.B.A.D Radio: Who did you feel the most loyal to and who did you want to ideally be in a final 2 with and why? Matt: I felt the most loyalty to the Brigade throughout the game, but I would like for Ragan to make it to the end because he is my best friend in the house. It would be nice for Hayden to get to then end as well.
B.B.A.D Radio: What was your biggest regret in the game? Matt: Throwing the last HOH competition.
B.B.A.D Radio: If there was something you could do over again what would that be? Matt: The competition.
B.B.A.D Radio: There seems to be some discrepancies with your age? Did you lie about your age and if so why? Matt: I did lie about my age. I’m 33, not 29. I said that because I wanted to fit in with the other people better. I also don’t look my age so to say I’m 33 people might not believe that either.
B.B.A.D Radio: Wednesday in the Taj room you had a conversation with Hayden. He told you he was not going to keep you and that Lane wasn't either, knowing you were being evicted why did you continue to throw Ragan under the bus? Matt: I wanted Hayden to trust me so that right before I left, I could tell him that Ragan’s target was Britney and Brendon and he would believe me.
B.B.A.D Radio: This past week why didn't you push harder for Britney to put up Hayden was willing to allow you to walk out the door last week and his reasoning was because he couldn't beat you in a final 2. Didn't you still think he might not want you there and that would be a good person to push to get rid of it not what's your reasoning? Matt: Ultimately if the Brigade could stay 4 strong we could have made it to final four. If I could keep the Brigade 4 people, I could have made it to final 4.
B.B.A.D Radio: Why did you admit to Ragan Monday night that you have been a fan of Big Brother for years, what was the reasoning behind that? Matt: Ragan was very depressed that night. I wanted to tell him a personal story and secret that would cheer him up and put him in a better mood.
B.B.A.D Radio: The Brigade had said to you many of times that you were spending more time with Ragan than with them. What did you make of that? Matt: Hayden and Enzo were spending equally amounts of time with their side alliance Brendon. It was more of a joking thing than a serious thing.
B.B.A.D Radio: Did you want to go down in history as being the 1st alliance to last from start to the final 4? Matt: Absolutely – I thought it would have been an awesome thing to be a part of.
B.B.A.D Radio: Who other than yourself did you find to be the most useful member in the Brigade and why? Matt: Lane was the next best Brigade member for my game because our situations paralleled each other - Him with Britney and me with Ragan.
B.B.A.D Radio: Why did you use your DPoV on Kathy who you all saw as the weakest player? Matt: I wanted to get Brendon out right away so I was trying to stack the house with competitors to ensure that he wouldn’t win any competitions.
B.B.A.D Radio: You had a strategy going into the game. How much did it differ once you started playing? Matt: I held firm to my strategy except for the one time when I threw a competition and that was my downfall.
B.B.A.D Radio: Was there any other houseguest you were considering as a replacement nominee other than Kathy and who and what was weighing on your decision? Matt: Britney was going to be that replacement nominee until the very last second. I wanted to get out a big threat, but I decided last minute to keep her in hopes that she would beat Brendon in HOH and veto comps.
B.B.A.D Radio: You called yourself the best big brother player to ever play the game and a diabolical super genius. One how did you come to that conclusion? and also how does a diabolical super genius wind up getting evicted? Matt: I’m the best player to play the game and it was proven to me because my own housemates told me that on numerous occasions. I got evicted because I got too confident and strayed from my super genius plans.
B.B.A.D Radio: Which remaining houseguest do you think is playing the best and worst game? Matt: Britney is playing the best and Enzo is playing the worst.
B.B.A.D Radio: Which of the remaining houseguest would you like to see in the final 2? Matt: I would like to see Ragan and Hayden go far.
B.B.A.D Radio: Going forward is there anything you will be taking away from this experience? Matt: ]You really learn to appreciate the people close to you in your life. When you are isolated for this long you reflect on how important they are to you.
B.B.A.D Radio: Do you have any final comments you'd like to say to the viewers and your fans? Matt: I’m humbled and thankful for anyone that calls themselves my fan. I find that crazy. If you are a super fan you should definitely apply because it was a great experience.

| Great questions ladies. As far as the interview, I felt Matt was feeding you garbage and blew off your questions...I was indifferent about him before, but now... | |

[...] Ultimately if the Brigade could stay 4 strong we could have made it to final four. If I could keep the Brigade 4 people, I could have made it to final 4. It's unfortunate to see he's still in denial. Now maybe he wasn't privy to enough information to figure out that they didn't push for Ragan to be the replacement and they definitely pushed hard for him to go up, but that's a big maybe because Ragan essentially spelled all of this out for him and he refused to believe it. The second response was a big "if"...an "if" that never happened and he should have seen it coming given that right before DPoV AND before this eviction he was told straight up by his fellow Brigade members he was going to get the boot. So why not use the DPoV to ditch the Brigade because they obviously weren't going to "stay strong"? Why not push for one of them to be the replacement nominee when you had better luck stringing along Ragan/Britney? It sounds like he was more interested in making BB history with the Brigade than trying to make the hard, most strategic moves to keep HIMSELF in the game. And that surprises me after his week three HoH when he said something about making decisions for himself rather than automatically doing what's best for the Brigade. Soo disappointed, Matt. You were my favorite from the beginning and you just rolled over and died the way Slothy would have. | |
