I finally was up early today t watch the Morning News...So I wanted to find an Article to see its True!!!!
WASHINGTON - The rumors are true -- MTV's Real World franchise is setting up shop in the District.
From New York to Los Angeles and London to Sydney and Cancun, for 17
years, 22 seasons and 436 episodes, the reality TV series has been a
fixture on MTV, making it the network's longest-running series.
By
now, the show needs no introduction: Seven strangers picked to live in
a house and have their lives taped every step of the way.
Now it's coming to Dupont Circle. The house at 2000 S Street NW appears quiet; the windows covered.
ABC 7 Talkback:
MTV
wouldn't officially confirm anything, but sources say taping will begin
at the end of the month, sparking reactions from anger to indifference
to excitement throughout the neighborhood.
"I think that's a good thing, liven up the neighborhood," said Sharon Robinson.
Not everyone is pleased. Some worry the series will bring too much of its trademark drama.
"Some
of the fights that break out and spill into the community," said James
McDowell Jr, who's also concerned about "the language."
Christine
De Mota worries it could become a hassle: "I'm afraid of the parking
situation and there might be crowds standing outside," she said.
There's already a blog in opposition,
The Anti-Real World D.C.ABC
7 News has learned a representative from the city will meet with Dupont
Circle residents Wednesday night at the D.C. Jewish community center,
to answer questions. We're also told filming is expected to start at
the end of the month and finish up in November.
