Whats been going on Lately....
Hey...
Well I figured I hadn't blogged in a while and wanted to throw some stuff out there. First, if you didn't read my page I finally have gotten me some wheels. I got me a Black Ford F150 Crew Cab, it is sweet! Thanks to my good friend up in Cincinnati that works at a Ford dealership and got me an amazing deal. One of the best things about the truck is that it is a Flex Fuel Vehicle. What is a Flex Fuel Vehicle you ask? Well it is a vehicle that runs on E85 (85% Ethanol and 15% gasoline) which is so much cheaper then just regular gas. Yesterday I filled up on E85, bought at Kroger's with my Kroger Card 10 cent discount, for $1.81 a gallon. I am saving cash and helping to reduce my use of fossil fuels ;)
Enough about the truck, I do have a little bit of gossip that I thought might be fun to share, but I can't tell you the source so don't even ask. Allegedly, April got home from Big Brother and doesn't even have a job anymore. I hear that she was fired from her job a week after moving into the Big Brother house. I also hear that most of the employees didn't even like her and they actually love Keesha for being her Arch Nemesis on the show. I also heard that she and Ollie have been spotted out together in Arizona with Nick and Jen at the Bowling Alley, I guess it wasn't just a showmance.
Next subject, I can't believe I am going to even blog about this because I absolutely hate politics, but there has been someone in my life lately that has been influencing me politically so I am going to make my first public political statement ever. Being gay (yes I am gay if you haven't heard) I have never really cared much about getting married myself, although I still think it is a choice we should be allowed to make. If you live in California please vote NO TO PROP 8. It is about more then just calling it "marriage", it is about all the things that come with laws associated with Marriage. For example if one person in the couple is sick or dying, their spouse needs to be able to make decisions. That example is just one of many that married people are allowed to have and we as gays and lesbians are not allowed. Will I ever get married, I doubt it, do I want the option to get married, YES..
Ok, enough politics, I swear I never ever talk politics, but I just think it is ridiculous that people can't just let that one go.
Now I will answer a lot of questions I still get asked:
Yes, I am still friends with Brian, Angie, Dan, Keesha, Renny and Memphis. Although I haven't actually spoken with Memphis, but we have emailed and I have only spoken to Renny on BBAD Blog Talk Radio. I talk to Brian, Angie and Keesha pretty regular and me and Dan have spoken a couple times. I think we are planning a trip somewhere in November, undisclosed location on an undisclosed date.
Yes, my arm is feeling much better, although I definitely haven't been able to move it like I use to it is doing much better. Sometimes just moving it the wrong way will make it hurt for a couple days. I think it will be at least 4 or 5 months until I get on a Bull again!
I think that is all for now. I hope everyone is happy and healthy... Got anything you want me to blog about? Send me a comment and I will be glad to. I was thinking about starting a video blog, maybe once a week or something, would anyone be interested in that?
Bye for now... | |

2008 Dallas Human Rights Campaign Black Tie Dinner
This past weekend was the 2008 Dallas HRC Black Tie dinner and it was an amazing event. I had the honor of not only attending but also modeling both Friday and Saturday night in the "Live Luxury Auction" Friday night I wore specially designed Cuff Links by Eiseman Jewels, http://www.eisemanjewels.com/index.html and Saturday I modeled clothes desinged by Nicolas Vilallba http://www.nicolasdesigns.com/ Check out My Videos and you can see me onstage, the outfit was so cool but I didn't get to keep it :( I also got to hang out some with Ross Mathews (Ross the Intern), he is so funny and hoot to be around. I also got to meet Reichen from Amazing Race, he is just as beautiful in person as he is in pictures. Make sure you check out all my pictures and video and if you aren't familiar with HRC please visit the site http://www.hrc.org/ and check it out.
Also wanted to let everyone know that Me, Brian, Dan and Memphis are all going to be in Vegas this weekend. We don't have any set plans as far as clubs yet, but if you are in town look for us. I can't wait for the boys weekend, we are going to have a blast. I am sure there will be some great pictures and maybe even video!!
Gotta go for now...
Happy Thanksgiving to Everyone!!

| I saw these right after he posted them - so relieved he remains safe and in tact... Yet, the caption of the the first pic says "The hotel I stayed at before heading to Iraq" - which means he is no longer in the swank comfort of Kuwait. I cannot recall being more worried in my life :(. | |

| Hello to everyone back home or wherever you are in the world. Had a few mintues and some working internet so I wanted to post a blog about some things that have been happening to me on the trip. I have so much to say and not even time to say it all. Basically life has been a super crazy rollercoaster ride since I stepped foot on the plane over here. It all started with a 2 hour flight to Atlanta, then a 14 hour flight to Dubai, next a 2 hour flight to Kuwait city, 2 hours to get a Visa, an hour spent filling a report for my lost bag and a 30 minute ride to the hotel, it was a very long day! Once in Kuwait it was all fancy and fun times, we stayed at a beautiful fancy hotel, J.W. Marriott, with great food and fantastic service. Spent two nights there then it was a 2 hour flight to Baghdad, this became the most unique and exciting part thus far. The plane lands on the military side of Baghdad International Airport and we are instructed to exit the plane and wait on the tarmack, next is a very long walk with all my luggage to meet our point of contact, then wait in line to be given linens and assigned a tent. The first tent I had slept about 25 guys and was very close quarters, no room at all. We shower and use the bathroom in a trailer that is commonly known as "The Cadillac", it really isn't that bad at all. Luckily it is winter here right now so the weather is very mild, about 70 during the day and 40 at night, that sounds like ideal weather, but the wind always blows, the sky is always overcast and filled with sand, so bascially it is sometimes hard to figure out where the ground ends and the sky begins. There is rarely any privacy here and it is so hard to get use to everything being surrounded by Twalls. Twalls are giant concete slabs that are about 20 feet high, they surround every single structure, tent, bathroom or building here. It is really hard to figure you way around because all you see is Twalls in every direction, basically you are surround by grey and brown all the time. The food is pretty good, we eat at what they call the Dfac (Dining Facility) there are lots of choices and the food is very high in calories and starches, I am already starting to get fat :( The first night was pretty hard to sleep, as I layed in my top bunk all I could hear was the sound of nonstop hellicoptors flying around and other guys snoring. For the most part I feel completely safe all the time and I am having a great time. I have met some amazing Airman and Soldiers who live in these conditions day in and day out, I have completely gained a whole new respect for them and want to remind everyone at home to please help support our troops in anyway possible. They live and work in an environment that most Americans will never see, experience or could even understand. PLEASE TAKE 1O MINTUES TO READ UP ON HOW YOU CAN HELP SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, I AM LISTING A COUPLE WEBSITES TO CHECK OUT, PLEASE DO THIS!!! http://www.freewebs.com/helpourtroops/http://www.operation-support-our-troops.org/That is all for now, more coming later, I am still trying to get my videos to upload but the internet is so slow and spotty that I can't seem to get any of them to fully upload. Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed! Check out my pics, I got to ride in a C130.... Bye for now from the Middle East... Steven | |

| Steven has posted MANY photos from his adventure on myspace: http://www.myspace.com/stevenfrombb10 , click the "Photos" link, and on Facebook (I think you must be a member to access his Facebook pics, so I don't have a "non-member" link). I'd post all the photos, but I'm WAY too lazy for that. Fascinating, all - and all just increase my "worriness". Yet I'm thrilled that Steven's work has expanded to bring him opportunities for such an amazing adventure - perhaps there will be more. I hope some members of his team have "in country" experience and know how to keep all safe. E&L, please get Steven back on BBAD radio upon his return (when is that, exactly?) to share his experiences. Sam PS - It looks like Steven has already stained his sheets - or maybe it's just sand ;). | |
