EXCLUSIVE: Teen Mom Amber Portwood & Ex-Fiance Avoid Questioning From Cops By Taking A Vacation












Teen [color:901c=blue !important][color:901c=blue !important]Mom star Amber Portwood and ex-fiancé Gary Shirley have avoided being questioned by police after a violent episode of the hit MTV show aired last week, and RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned it's because they're on vacation.


"As it so happens, the victim and suspect are on [color:901c=blue !important][color:901c=blue !important]vacation down in Florida and have been out of town since the time that aired," Detective Mitch Carroll of the Anderson Police Department in [color:901c=blue !important][color:901c=blue !important]Indiana told RadarOnline.com on Wednesday morning.
"There has been no movement on that case and probably will not be for at least another week."


As RadarOnline.com was first to report, the on-again-off-again couple has been trying to patch up their relationship by attending couple's counseling.
"It's my understanding they're doing just fine," Amber's father Shawn told RadarOnline.com. "They're going to couples counseling."


Viewers of Teen Mom were shocked last week when the footage showed Amber slapping and punching Gary several times; all while their young daughter Leah stood at Amber's feet.
The violence depicted on the show prompted outrage from viewers and as RadarOnline.com reported, an investigation was launched by the Anderson Police Department and The Department of [color:901c=blue !important][color:901c=blue !important]Child Protective Services in Indiana.

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Teen Mom Amber Portwood & Fiance In Couples Counseling After Fight, Says Dad





MTV Teen Mom star Amber Portwood is in couples counseling with her on-again, off-again fiancé Gary Shirley after the network aired a violent episode between the couple, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.


Amber's father Shawn opened up to RadarOnline.com in an exclusive interview to discuss what his daughter is doing to salvage her relationship with the father of her child.
Shawn revealed that Amber and Gary have been in counseling for months, and he hopes that they get married, despite a televised battle that has led to a criminal investigation.
"It's my understanding they're doing just fine," Shawn told RadarOnline.com. "They're going to couples counseling."


According to Shawn, the young couple has matured and made the decision on their own to get help. "I think it was their idea as a whole, them together, to be honest with you," he told RadarOnline.com.
RadarOnline.com was first to report last week that a police investigation was launched after the young mother was shown on the popular MTV show hitting and kicking Shirley during an argument.


But Shawn was quick to point out that Amber's seemingly aggressive behavior is uncharacteristic for the 20-year-old.
"I think we all go through our troubles and we all have our idiosyncrasies," he told RadarOnline.com. "It's just something that happens. It's not a normal thing... I don't believe it's a normal thing for Amber to do what she did. I haven't seen it hardly at all."


Shawn was shocked that the argument was aired. "It surprised me that it was even on TV and it was shown on TV. I don't even think it should've been shown on TV, to be honest with you," he said. "I think that MTV should've used better judgment, that's all I've got to say."


A review of the video footage showed Portwood slapping and punching Shirley at least seven times. Shirley does not respond physically to Portwood but instead just asks her, "Are you done?"
Both the Anderson Police Department and The Department of Child Protective Services in Indiana are looking into the incident, and even though Shawn knows the authorities are just doing their job, he is adamant that his granddaughter Leah is perfectly safe.


"The kids are doing good and Leah is well taken care of, and they're doing something about it and that's the thing," he told RadarOnline.com. "And the investigation... of course they have to check into it. It's they're job.
"But, I mean, like I said she's taken care of, they're good parents, they really are. I believe they are and I've been around them... they're getting along just fine and they're taking care of her and they're keeping in touch with me because I was concerned and I talked to her about it. But that's what the couple's counseling is all about, right?"
The altercation between Portwood and Shirley ensued after Shirley accused Amber of being a bad mom and threatened to report her to Child Protective Services.


"You know, this happened months ago... and things have changed a lot since then and they're doing something about it, especially after that," Shawn said. "But that was then, this is now. They've been doing this counseling for a little while now."
Shawn says that his daughter and her boyfriend have been working on their relationship issues for at least a few months now.


"From what I understand they've been at it a few months since that's been filmed, not aired... since that's been filmed back a few months ago -- maybe more -- they've been taking care of it, trying to stay together for the baby.
"He's [Gary] a good father; he loves that baby. They both do and they want the best for her. Like I said, everybody has their idiosyncrasies, they get over it, they're a young couple, they run into roadblocks and they get over it. Some people get help, some people don't. In this case they're getting help because they're smart kids."


Shawn even has bigger hopes for them in the future.
"I would hope that would happen and they go ahead and get married and all this works out," he said. "Not every relationship is made in heaven at first. You have to get over those mountains.
"I think one day they will [get married], hopefully," he added. "They might work it out and it looks like they're sure trying to work it out."

I watch it E, as you know...lol.
The episode that they are talking about was completely disturbing and hard to watch. I kind of agree with Ambers dad but not in the same way. I think it SHOULD have been aired to bring it out in the open BUT MTV should have intervened. The camera's should have been put down and someone needed to step in as it went way beyond a few slaps. She was punching him and she kicked him in the back as he was carrying his tv down the stairs and her daughter was witnessing all of this. Not to mention calling him names while her daughter listened. It was absolutely sickening.

What is also disturbing about this show is Catelyn's mother.....wow. This woman is absolutely horrible and treats her much more mature than herself daughter, like crap.

Its actually a good show and while Amber is a complete trainwreck and horrible, others on the show (Catelyn and Tyler, Maci and most of the time Farrah) show a good side of how they are dealing with being a teen mom/parent.

I was surprised Kyle walked out on Maci. I definitely thought he seemed to go along with the flow of things as she seemed to be the one forcing the relationship to speed up but I didn't think he would walk out like he did.

Farrah I thought is moving in the best direction as she was the one last season I thought was very immature and wouldn't start doing what's best for Sophia.

Catelynn - It's really heart wrenching to watch her interactions with her mother. Her mom always seems so angry and never has had a loving moment with her daughter. And Catelynn so desperately just wants her mom's love and understanding.

Amber - ugh! She is such a hot mess... and Gary needs to man up and quit sweating her! I feel the most sadness for Leah, she just always looks sad and pitiful

yup, I watched it. I was also surprised that Kyle bailed! I thought he was in it for the long haul but I guess not.
Too bad that next week is the finale but I hope they continue with another season.

Exclusive: Teen Mom's Maci Denies Ex's Cheating Claims



Teen Mom star Maci Bookout is no cheater.
In the new issue of Us Weekly, Bookout, 19, slams the claims of Ryan Edwards, her ex and father to her son Bentley, 23 months; Edwards, 22, recently told a tabloid that during their relationship, Bookout cheated on him with Kyle King, her current beau.

"He can say what he wants," Bookout tells Us of the accusation. "I'm not going to pay attention to things that aren't true."
Also untrue? Another report claiming she dumped King, 22, in order to reunite with Edwards. To the contrary, she and King are "really good," she tells Us -- and she and Bentley have permanently relocated to his hometown of Nashville, Tenn. to stay close.

"It feels right," she says of the move. "[Kyle and I] work because, before anything, we're best friends."
As for Bentley's dad, despite his accusations, things aren't all bad. After Edwards threatened to sue for custody of Bentley, arrangements are now "under control," Bookout says.

Just as importantly, "we've learned ways to talk to each other without being so mean," the Tennessee native tells Us.



I thought her and Kyle had broke up?

I'm pretty sure they are still together, and going pretty strong. She's been on the cover of a couple magazines recently talking about how she's finally found true love. I haven't seen this week's episode yet, but I think they are definitely together now.

'Teen Mom' Amber may face felony charges


Anna Chan writes: Not only is "Teen Mom" star Amber Portwood being investigated by the police in Anderson, Ind., for domestic violence, she could face felony charges for beating on ex-fiance Gary Shirley in front of their toddler, Leah, according to HollywoodLife.com. The incident was caught by MTV's cameras and aired on Sept. 28. (The episode airs again on Oct. 29.)
The Coalition Against Domestic Violence told the website that domestic violence in front of a child under the age of 14 in that state can result in felony charges. Law enforcement in Indiana confirmed to HollywoodLife.com that the charges are a possibility in Portwood's case.
But that's not all. The Indiana Department of Child Services is also investigating the situation. The DCS told HollywoodLife.com that anyone who suspects or witnesses child abuse must report the situation to the Indiana Child Abuse Hotline, which means the department may soon be calling in potential witnesses.
Could Portwood's neighbor Tiffany Harless be a potential witness? In the current issue of Life & Style Weekly, the magazine reported that police were called to Portwood's home in April after she and Harless got into a physical confrontation over a parking spot. Harless told the magazine that during the entire fight, Leah was alone in the home. "Her child was upstairs the whole time by herself. No one else was coming or going out of that house, and no one was looking out for the baby."

"Teen Mom" star Amber Portwood is reportedly pregnant again.
Life & Style reports that Portwood and Gary Shirley, her on-again, off-again, fiancé and the father of her daughter Leah, recently learned of Portwood's new pregnancy during a vacation together in Tennessee. Now that they're back in their home town of Anderson, Ind., "Gary has been telling people that Amber is pregnant again," according to an insider who spoke to the magazine.
Jordan Sanchez, Shirley's best friend, said he's aware of the alleged pregnancy (Portwood has yet to comment). "Yes, I've heard that Amber is pregnant," Sanchez told Life & Style. However, Sanchez feels that Portwood might be playing a cruel game. "Amber does manipulate Gary," Sanchez said. "Pretending to be pregnant could just be another example of her trying to manipulate him and keep people interested in the show."


After watching the finale last nigt...

I think Amber is a mess and needs serious help along with Gary. It's not healthy that Gary doesn't stick up for himself and takes the abuse. Amber I believe is crying over the backlash more than anything because she knows what the public thinks of her. I still feel bad for Leah and hope for her sake they both seek help because it's very disturbing to think these 2 are raising her.

I think Farrah is much better than she was last season. She still comes off very crass and has a chip on her shoulder. Her mom does try to help her and she should be grateful for that and realize as tough as it must be for her to be a single young mom that there are others with that same situation and don't have the support that she has there. She doesn't seem appreciative, but a lot of that has to do with her age.

I have always liked Maci but I do see Ryan's point. I couldn't help but think Maci is still in love with Ryan. And it almost seemed like Dr Drew was trying to make a connection with them 2 last night despite Kyle being there in the picture. And they are all so young so it's almost to be expected with their ages.

Caitlin and Tyler are on a whole different level. To be so young and so wise considering both of their backgrounds. It's amazing that these 2 kids both come from such trash yet are so much better off than their parents in wanting to do the right thing. On the reunion show last night I just could not take Caitlin's mother April. She looks so miserable and has so much hostility. It's pretty sad to watch. Rather than being overjoyed and proud of her daughter she just is so consumed with probably her own failures to even acknowledge her daughters very brave decision and that's why she can't support her the way that she should. Her mother just sucks and she really needs to watch the show and see how horrible she comes off and change it. It's very ugly.

Catelynn and Tyler are absolutely 2 of the most amazing people period. They are extremely wise beyond their years. Their maturity astounds me! They should have their own show. I really hope that Catelynn finds some peace with her trainwreck of a mother. She is lightyears above her mom which is sad in itself and I hope the abusiveness that her mother dishes out will not effect Catelynn longterm. To think of what these two have overcome, would anyone at all be surprised if they were both high school dropouts, drug abusers etc? Not at all. If either one of them were my kids, I would be the proudest parent, too bad her Mom cant see that!

Oh no, not pregnant again! Gary!!! I wanted Gary out of the relationship. She does not love him and she needs anger management classes. How to do beat a grown man in front of his child and on camera. Its not like she didnt know the camera was there; its not like Big Brother, the camera person is there with the camera in their house.

Anderson woman investigated over 'Teen Mom' violence









Anderson - Authorities in Madison County are investigating an Anderson woman who struck her fiancé repeatedly on a hit reality MTV show. The violence on "Teen Mom" could have a far reaching impact on the couple and their baby girl.

The show's title says it all: "Teen Mom." The show features real-life teenagers as they cope with the challenges of parenthood.

"I am a mom! I'm a teenager too!" one of the show's stars protested to her mother.

But now another young woman featured on the show is being investigated for domestic violence. The show's producers caught the entire incident on tape, and aired it in a recent episode.

It's attracting controversy on several levels - the violent acts, the fact that they were perpetrated in front of the couple's young daughter, the camera crew's failure to intervene and MTV's decision to air the episode.

Amber Portwood, a teenage mother who lives in Anderson, Indiana, is shown shouting at her boyfriend Gary Shirley, who is notably taller and heavier than she is, and slapping him. She also cusses frequently during her tirade.

"You don't talk to my [expletive] dad like that! You hear me?" she screamed, pushing him by the neck against a wall, then slapped him.

That incident occurred last year. Their baby girl Leah was in the room, and now it's happened again.

"I swear to God I was I was bigger than you. I'd [expletive] beat your [expletive]," Portwood told Shirley, hitting and punching him several times when he threatened to report her for being a bad mother.

Anderson Police have launched a criminal investigation into Amber's behavior. Child Protective Services is also investigating the case. Portwood could be charged with misdemeanor battery.

In Indiana, domestic violence in front of a child under the age of 14 can be a felony.

Anderson police have yet to interview the couple.

"This was a reality series so we don't know if what you're seeing is actually the way that it took place. Was there editing? Were they told to amp it up for TV? We don't know because we haven't been able to have that conversation," said Det. Mitch Carroll, Anderson Police.

Speaking on an MTV reunion special, Portwood later said she didn't remember getting so angry and tearfully said, "I don't remember it being like that. I feel like I hit him one time and then I watch and I'm hitting him multiple times."

Portwood calls herself a teenage party girl and a high school dropout who became pregnant. This week, Life & Style magazine featured a picture of Amber and her daughter on the cover with the headline, "Out-of-control monster!"

"There are critics who say that MTV or the production company should have stepped in and stopped the scene especially because they occurred in front of their baby daughter Leah," said Bonnie Fuller, Hollywoodlife.com.

After seeing the latest fight, investigators went to Portwood's home. They say they found evidence that warrants their attention.

"As we're all glued to the television set watching this train wreck, we need to be cognizant that these are real lives, real situations and that there is the mental health of this child who's at stake here," said Jeff Gardere, psychologist.

Gary Shirley said he could not comment on last year's incident or the more recent one.

Also, according to a report from the Madison County Sheriff's Department, a deputy was called to Shirley's home Tuesday night on a domestic disturbance after Shirley pushed an underwear-clad Portwood out of the home after she threatened to attack him over a text message he received.

Portwood told deputies that she's been under stress over the battery investigation in the Teen Mom series. With a private security team stationed outside of her house, she declined to talk about the latest in a series of outbursts with the focus now on the welfare of this Teen Mom's child.

What MTV's 'Teen Mom' Stars Make


See how their salaries compare to the casts of fellow MTV hits "Jersey Shore" and "The Hills."


MTV's hit show "Teen Mom" may document the hardships that the stars face as young parents, but the cast is actually pulling in good money from the show.

Sources say the reality show's stars earn somewhere in the neighborhood of $60,000-$65,000 per season.
While that's a good salary for struggling young parents, it's still nowhere near the reported salaries of the cast of MTV's "The Hills," which ended its six-season run in July.
Lauren Conrad, for example, was said to be making $125,000 an episode before she left the show at the end of its penultimate season. At the lower end of the "Hills" salary spectrum, Brody Jenner reportedly pulled in $45,000 an episode.

In contrast, "Teen Mom's" second season, which ended Oct. 5, consisted of 11 episodes, which means the stars would have made less than $6,000 per show.

The "Teen Mom" stars also earn less than the cast of another current MTV show, "Jersey Shore," which over the summer asked for a whopping 200% raise -- to $30,000 an episode. A deal was reached after MTV countered with a number close to that figure.





I'm sure if they asked for more they'd get more since it's a popular show for MTV. I hope some money is being put in a savings account for the little stars of the show.

I wonder if they get the money now, or later? Obviously, it showed Farrah struggling with money & Amber & Gary don't seem to have lavish lifestyles, but I always think it's weird how Gary doesn't work, but they have no problem paying rent, etc. on Amber's part time tanning salon salary. Catelynn & Tyler also don't seem to have a ton of money.

Despite being hit repeatedly by Amber on national television and then being dumped by her so she could date another man, Gary stood by the teen mom saying she was a "great [color:27ff=blue !important][color:27ff=blue !important]mother" to their toddler, Leah.
Now it seems 20-year-old Gary is spreading his wings as he was caught Friday in another's woman's arms while dancing at Peppers in the Indianapolis suburb of Broad Ripple.

"This girl was really cute, I was shocked... I can't believe he cries about Amber and then goes and does this," added Swan.
"I was happy when I heard that he and Amber got back together but when I saw him with this other woman I was really disappointed."

Gary seemed to be kicked out of the [color:27ff=blue !important][color:27ff=blue !important]house weekly during the filming of Teen Mom but Amber's father, Shawn, revealed that despite the televised battle, the couple was in counseling for months, and he hoped that they would get married. But things don't look promising for the young [color:27ff=blue !important][color:27ff=blue !important]parents.
"Amber and Gary are doing their separate thing right now," said a source close to Gary.

"He's not seeing anyone. He's not in any relationship. They are doing separate things right now.
"But he loves Amber."

Oh lawd! Yep, Gary's been catting around all over Indy. One of my friends saw him last month at a club & she & her friend took a pic with him. Her friend got his number, as a joke, her bf was right there. I told her, she better not use it, she'll have baby mama drama with Amber.
I'm sorry, but I think that's soooo weird that RadarOnline.com, a site that reports "celeb" news, is trolling Indy for shots of Gary dancing at a club. Must be a slow day at the office!

'Teen Mom' Amber Portwood -- The Mug Shot

TMZ has obtained the mug shot of "Teen Mom" Amber Portwood -- taken moments after she was arrested in Indiana for allegedly beating the crap out of her baby daddy ... in front of their daughter.



According to Amber's booking sheet -- the 20-year-old measured in at 5'3", 138 lbs.

Amber was charged with two felony counts of domestic battery, one felony count of neglect of a dependent, and one misdemeanor count of domestic battery.

As we previously reported, Amber allegedly attacked Gary Shirley three separate times between August 2009 and July 2010. Some of the violence was captured on video.

We're told Amber faces three years behind bars and up to $10,000 in fines if convicted on all charges.


About time she is locked up!

There was a story on our local news about this last night and in it they said she is a "self proclaimed reality tv star who made $280K+ last year". Nice.
