THIS JUST IN... From CBS Entertainment... A SPECIAL TWO-HOUR "BIG BROTHER" FINALE TO BE BROADCAST ON WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 15 FOLLOWING THE PREMIERE OF "SURVIVOR: NICARAGUA"

CBS will broadcast a special two-hour finale of BIG BROTHER on Wednesday, Sept. 15 (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT), following the season premiere of SURVIVOR: NICARAGUA (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT).

This summer's edition of BIG BROTHER is winning its time periods in adults 18-49 and posting significant year-to-year increases versus last summer, up +14% in viewers (6.91m vs. 6.06m), +20% in adults 18-49 (2.4/08 vs. 2.0/07), +25% in adults 18-34 (2.0/08 vs. 1.6/06) and +12% in adults 25-54 (2.8/09 vs. 2.5/07).

BIG BROTHER is executive produced by Emmy Award winner Allison Grodner and Rich Meehan in association with Endemol U.S.A.

9-11pm???? What's up with that?

Hopefully they won't try to extend the final three again and then extend the game as long as possible within the finale because they're afraid of losing viewers in the second hour. It's such an excellent opportunity to get the season retrospective discussion from all the HGs once the game has ended (or at least just before the winner is declared but votes are locked so everyone can talk openly) that the fans deserve for hanging in there. They blew it last year. But I'm still happy it's a two hour finale and that viewership is strong. It's a good sign that the series will be renewed for another season.

So excited for the 2 hr finale. I am with you M.B. hope they don't do it like last year. Nothing really happens that last week anyways. I hope the first hour they name the winner and then the next hour they talk to everyone.

I couldnt agree more about how it went down with Kevin being evicted and how he went straight to jury without the benefit of discussing with the rest of them what they knew and basically just a chance to regroup and think about his question to the final 2 and his vote.
I truly hope they dont do that again. The whole first hour should be jury questioning, then crown the winner and then the final hour should be rehashing the season etc. Every year they crown the winner, give away the fav HG award and boom D-U-NNN. Show over. They should take a page from how Survivor does it.

Exactly, it just makes sense, but unfortunately BB producers aren't known for making sense, or caring what fans want, for that matter.

If they did do a round table type discussion for the last hour (like they should), producers would probably have Julie constantly steer the discussion to the topic of Brendon/Rachel's "relationship" the whole time thereby ruining it anyway. Given how much they force feed us that storyline on the show and show it on the feeds, they seem to think it's all the audience cares about seeing.

will they even have enough material with this cast to fill 2 hours..lol

I agree, I wish BB would be the lead in to Survivor.
