'Survivor' Star Accused of Battering a Woman

The horrible week for CBS reality stars continues -- TMZ has learned another Survivor" star has been cited in Louisiana after cops say he battered a woman inside a bar restroom over the weekend.

Kenward "Boo" Bernis -- who competed on "Survivor: Fiji" back in 2007 -- is accused of walking into a ladies restroom at Bootleggers Bar in Lafayette, grabbing a woman by the upper arm and "forcibly move[ing] her."

As we've previously reported, another "Survivor" contestant -- Russell Hantz -- was also arrested in Lafayette on Friday for battering a woman. Hantz also co-owns the Bootleggers Bar where Bernis' alleged incident went down.

And over on Big Brother, two dudes from Season 9 are in all sorts of trouble for allegedly operating an illegal prescription drug ring.

Attempts to reach Bernis were unsuccessful.

That is not the whole story. The "woman" was Krista Stegall from Big Brother 2, and she was fighting in the restroom so Boo went in there for trying to break up the fight. He ended up getting arrested because Krista was cracked out. SHE contacted TMZ and told them about Boo.

Krista a crackhead? yeah I can see that...

Krista was in a fight. Boo went into the bathroom to try and break it up. Someone else called the cops, and when the cops arrived Krista told them Boo had hit her then she later changed her story to "forcibly moved her". Of course, he's going to be taken down town if a woman says he hit her, you know? Krista then contacted TMZ because she wanted publicity, but the part everyone left out was the charges were dropped and Boo was released that night.

TMZ has learned former "Survivor" contestant Kenward "Boo" Bernis has close ties to the woman he allegedly roughed up in a bar restroom ... because she's also a former CBS reality TV star.



Krista Stegall -- who appeared on "Big Brother" in 2001 -- tells TMZ she was in the bathroom at Bootleggers Bar in Lafayette, LA last month when Bernis allegedly stormed in, grabbed her arms, shoved her against a wall, and shouted, "this is my bar!" Stegall claims these photos (above) show the bruises she suffered in the alleged attack.

Stegall says she filed for a restraining order against Bernis last week. She claims she and Bernis -- who co-owns Bootleggers Bar -- were longtime friends, but never dated.

We were unable to reach Bernis for comment.

Colton, I know you talk to Boo, maybe its time that he tell his side of the story if he is truly innocent. I mean we know that Krista isn't wrapped too tight (she is the girl who allowed some nut job to hold a knife to her throat in BB right?) so at the very least, if these allegations are false, he should speak up. She is certainly doing her very best to discredit him.

Um what?? She is saying that she never gave TMZ her name? It kind of doesnt make sense to me. Why would Boo give TMZ her name and if he went so far to contact TMZ, why wouldnt he give HIS version of the story. Doesnt it even say after the article that they were unable to reach Bernis for comment? I am more and more starting to believe HIS version.

Just a little FYI , TMZ DID NOT RELEASE MY NAME on BOO'S arrest, I NEVER SAID A WORD TILL NOW....They never release the victims name. I believe 100% she contacted TMZ, Why would TMZ give a fuck to make it up... they have no side in this and now she's saying she didn't contact them? what a lunatic! Not only did she tell TMZ she gave them the pics... oh I guess Boo gave them her pics too huh?

one other thing....If (in her own words) they never release the victims name, then why, just because Boo gave them the name, would they release it? I'm with you 100%, she called TMZ, she released the story, her name, the pics....everything. Boo needs to speak up.

It's sad and pathetic but I do believe she wanted to make TMZ.

Former 'Survivor': Alleged Attack All For 'Publicity'

Ex "Survivor" star Kenward "Boo" Bernis claims his alleged battery victim is a fame whore and the whole bar room incident was a "publicity stunt" on her part.



Bernis is accused of grabbing former "Big Brother" contestant Krista Stegall by the arm and forcibly moving her at Bootlegger's Bar in Lafayette, LA last month.

Bernis -- who co-owns the bar -- claims Stegall had already "caused a fight that went down between two guys," and almost sparked another one in the restroom.

As for the bruises on Stegall's arm -- Bernis says he did grab her, but only after she left the restroom, and only to escort her out of the bar.

The D.A. in Lafayette has not filed charges against Bernis.

I was reading the reader comments from the above article and this one caught my eye. I don't know if this person is telling the truth or not but was the bar empty or not? If there were less than 10 people in the bar and lets assume that half of them are men, then why would you have to wait in line for the restroom? And is this person saying that the majority of the people were waiting to go to the bathroom? It just makes no sense to me. If Krista and Melanie were in the bathroom, why would Boo just randomly run in there and assault her and throw her out of the bar especially since they are "old friends"? We'll probably never know the real truth but I have a feeling the "witness" is a friend of Krista's if not Krista herself.


21. I was a witness to this assault. I was waiting in line to use the restroom, as were the majority of the people in the bar. Less then 10. The bar was empty as we had a huge Music Fest going on in the streets downtown. Pretty much everybody in the bar was in line for the restroom. I saw Krista Stegal and Melanie Hance enter the restroom. A few minutes later, Boo, who I personally know, shoved his way into the ladies restroom. He came out with Krista in hand, tossing her around like a rag doll, shaking her and shoved her against the wall. He was screaming at the top of his lungs "This is MY BAR! THIS IS MY BAR!" Everyone was in shock because everybody knows Boo and Krista to be old friends. She got him on Survivor, She took him to the BB allstars finale, pics of them sitting together, on TV are all over the web. Melanie came out behind them screaming at Boo, "What are you doing? BOO, What are you doing?" He proceeded to drag her by the arm towards, the front door and finally let her go. There was no fight in that bar at all. The only rukus was Boo assaulting Krista. There is about 6 or 7 people that were there and should step up, and hopefully they do or already have, and not JUST for Krista, who is a bit of a hand full, but for a Woman who was assaulted by a Man. She doesn't deserve that nor does she deserve the personal attacks that I have just read. Those of you who don't see that are sick individuals, and you should be ashamed of yourself. This is not about "Krista" and "Boo"; Reality Stars if you will. This is about a man assaulting a woman. That is ALWAY'S wrong. I am a father of an 18 year old daughter and if Boo had done that to my daughter he would have more then the police to worry about. Boo has been charged with assualt, and Krista was granted a restraining order for both her and her daughter. That is a verifiable FACT!

10. Krista being a fame-whore is a major understatement. I live in Lafayette and have been dealing with her "I was on Big Brother" attitude for awhile. She used to work in the mall here. She'll tell you that CBS calls her as does MTV, wanting her for various shows. When I was going to UL I would hear her on the radio with Bobby Novasad on KSMB. She just sounded dumb. She would constantly mispronounce the name of her daughters own school and in general make really ignorant statements and justify it by saying she was country. I had to listen to CDs til I heard she left.
Boo and several witnesses saw what Krista pulled that night. His best move should have been to call the Lafayette PD to get her removed from Bootleggers. Now that he's touched her, country will look for the payoff. Boo and Russell, get ready. Fame-whore isn't going away because this is her last shot. EC



14. I live in Lafayette an can comfirm she is a peice of trash. The reason she wore sunglasses in night clubs was cause she was high as a kite!! She is broke with no money and will try to sue anyone just to get money. she has many other law suits that she has filed which all pretty much state the same. someone has done something to her and of course according to her she didnt do anything wrong so she sues them. She is dirty and will do anything for money!! She thinks everyone just loves her here in Lafayette and in the real world everyone thinks she is a joke. She cant keep a job, is a horrible mother and thinks everyone owes her. Nobody cares Krista get over yourself!

BTW Is that Melanie Hantz, Russell's wife?
Lafayette is starting to have a little community of former reality "stars". Shannon, who is on the current season of Survivor is also from Lafayette, and I believe is a friend of Boo and James from Survivor.

Boo probably just didn't want anyone getting busted for doing cocaine in the ladies room of his bar.
