The Amazing Race and Jeff Probst both continued their winning streaks during last night's live broadcast of the 61st Annual Primetime Emmy Awards.

The Amazing Race claimed Outstanding Reality-Competition Program honors for the seventh year in a row while the Survivor host took home the Outstanding Host For A Reality Or Reality-Competition Program award for the second straight year.

The Amazing Race has now won the Outstanding Reality-Competition Program award every year it has been presented. It defeated American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, Project Runway and Top Chef last night in the category.
I don't know what to say anymore. It's like I'm shaking... I think we all are," The Amazing Race co-creator and executive producer Bertram van Munster told the audience after accepting the award.

"Thanks to the Academy, my phenomenal team worldwide [and] with me. It's just been such a crazy ride. Sixteen seasons we are doing now, all these Emmy awards and all the other wonderful things we have won for this show. I'm really speechless. Thanks CBS for staying with us for all these years."

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences first introduced the Outstanding Host For A Reality Or Reality-Competition Program category last year, and it was also won by Probst in its inaugural season.

Last night the Survivor host defeated The Amazing Race host Phil Keoghan, Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi and "co-host" Tom Colicchio, American Idol host Ryan Seacrest, Dancing with the Stars host Tom Bergeron, and Project Runway host Heidi Klum to claim the award.

"I am thrilled and honored to accept this on behalf of the entire Survivor crew. We built the show together on the beaches and in jungles all over the world and I am honored to be the face of Survivor," said Probst in his acceptance speech.

"Tonight I also want to share this with anybody who has a dream, because I am living my dream right here in this moment. If you have a dream, dream big -- pursue it with a passion. In the words of the great storyteller Joseph Campbell, 'The adventure you're ready for is the one you get. Life is short, go for it.'"

The 61st Annual Primetime Emmy Awards was hosted by Neil Patrick Harris a year after the inaugural nominees in the Outstanding Host For A Reality Or Reality-Competition Program category helmed the show, and Probst appreciated the job Harris was doing.

"Neil Patrick Harris, this is how you host the Emmys. Nice job," said Probst.

In addition to The Amazing Race and Probst, American Idol director Bruce Gowers took home the Emmy for Outstanding Directing For A Variety, Music Or Comedy Series.

The win brought Idol's Emmy total for the year to four, as the Fox reality competition series claimed three awards at last week's Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony.
