Subject: another sad day in baseball Mon Apr 13, 2009 8:44 pm
The voice of the Philadelphia Phillies collapsed today in the broadcast booth just a few hours before the Phillies were set to take the field againt the Nationals in Washington D.C. today. He was pronounced dead an hour later. Harry Kalas was the announcer for the Phillies for 38 years and its going to be hard to watch a Phillies game and not see him or hear his voice. Yes, I am a huge Yankee fan as most of you know but I have followed and adopted the Phillies as my second team for many years as I live so close to Philadelphia. This is a sad sad day for all of baseball and he will be sorely missed. Below is a youtube I found and you can hear Harry calling the final out of the 2008 World Series as the Phillies clinch the championship. R. I. P. Harry.
